In fact, we believe American women have been brainwashed into thinking they need reflective nanoparticles on their faces, mascara that quadruples the thickness of their lashes, and lipstick that stays on during deep-sea diving expeditions in order to look their best. At The Nature of Beauty, we don't believe increasing your risk of cancer, infertility or asthma is worth that extra 1/100th of an inch added to your eyelashes. We don't believe it's critically important for your foundation to adhere to your face for 24 hours if it means using the same kinds of adhesives that make paint stick to the walls. And we certainly don't believe your baby needs chemically-laden, artificially scented lotion to make her skin smooth and soft, at the risk of later health or skin problems. It is our opinion that the supposed benefits of using these products simply do not outweigh the potential risks, and with the abundance of high-quality beauty and personal care products on the market that do not contain these potentially harmful substances, we find it hard to understand why anyone would want to continue using them.
