Ninety-eight percent natural, this mineral and plant-based mascara is paraben-free, phenoxyethanol free, coal free, and PEG free. Better yet, it will stays put all day, without flaking or smudging (yes, it's true). Two separate applicators are available: "cils courts," which deposits more color on the lashes to both lengthen and thicken, and "cils longs," which uses furrows that separate, structure and thicken the eyelashes.

    I have the Cils Longs and the mascara is fantastic but I wish the squeegy-thing cleaned the wand better. I feel I must wipe the globs off the base of the brush before use and I hate to waste so much product.

    This really is a wonderful mascara. Not only the best natural one, but also one of the best mascaras I've tried. I use it with the Jane Iredale lash primer, and my lashes look amazing. They also look healthy when I take my makeup off.

    I agree with the other reviews. this is the first natural mascara that really thickens and lengthens lashes with no difference to conventional products. There's also no smudging and it's alcohol-free, which is great.

    However, the wand must be wiped off before using it, otherwise there's clumping, which is a bit of a waste.

    I'm also concerned that they use sodium hydoxy methylglycinate as a preservative. The EWG as well as other watchdog groups, such as codecheck in switzerland, say that this preservative can release formaldehyde on the skin and is not recommended in products that remain on the skin. I had emailed the company a few years ago about my concerns and they said they are aware of it and working on an another formula, but they haven't changed it since.

    Due to these two drawbacks I cannot give it an excellent rating.

    I really liked this mascara at first, and was so excited that it was natural and worked so well. I agree with the reviewer who said you had to wipe it off before using. Also, now that I have used it for a while I notice it flakes pretty badly. It didn't do that at first. I haven't had it three months yet, so I was very disappointed by that.

    Finally found a natural mascara that works for me! I luuuv it! This is the best mascara I have ever worn. It doesn't make my lashes stiff or brittle, doesn't smell and it makes my lashes look long and full. I bought the cils long in brown and I love the color and the brush. As others said, at first a lot of product gets on the brush, but nothing I haven't come across using other mascaras I just scrape it back into the tube until the golbs are gone. It is well worth the $!
