In the mid-70’s a group of friends in Hanover, Germany opened a shop featuring the few available natural products that fit the values of this new, green alternative movement. In 1977, they tried their hand at manufacturing simple body care products, and Logona was born. Today over 200 products for the daily care of skin and hair for every family member carry the Logona label.

Strict ingredient quality standards have always been fundamentally important to Logona product formulation and manufacturing. Logona products utilize the highest quality, natural raw materials, such as premium vegetable oils and waxes, herbal extracts and floral distillates derived from organic agriculture and wild crafting. To ensure they do not compromise on the quality or replace natural ingredients with synthetics, they have been certified as BDIH, an independent third-party certification program that requires frequent monitoring.

Aside from rigorous ingredient standards, Logona products must also conform to industry-leading ecological standards regarding minimal resource consumption during manufacturing, and minimal and recyclable packaging for the finished products. No animal testing is condoned and the products are tested on willing human subjects under strict clinical controls. No ingredients are used that are tested on animals, directly or indirectly.

Why we like it

Unknown to most Americans, Logona has been at the forefront of the natural cosmetics and personal care movement for decades. They are known throughout Europe for the high quality and great performance of all of their products. Although we haven’t tested all 200 products, everything we have tried has been consistent with their overseas reputation. The face powders, both pressed and loose, are simply gorgeous. The lipsticks pencils provide beautiful color and are ideal for sticking in your purse or clutch. If you want to pamper yourself, try the Oriental line of body care; the body butter in particular has a luxurious feel and an aroma you will find it hard to live without. Logona’s natural hair color, made with no synthetic chemicals whatsoever, virtually flies off the shelves in Europe and consistently receives rave reviews – go ahead, give it a try!
