In January 2003, David Reccole and Cédric Ferréol, beauty industry veterans, had a dream: to create a business that would constantly re-invent the ways of practicing sustainable business. They felt it was time for a company to produce high quality yet affordable products using natural & organic ingredients, environmentally friendly packaging and ethical business practices. Thus Couleur Caramel was born: a natural & organic makeup line sustainably designed with respect for the environment, people and skin care as its primary mission.

Nearly every product in this line is Eco-Cert certified. What is even more impressive is that the executives at Couleur Caramel have partnered with Eco-Cert to determine standards for certified organic cosmetics, even reformulating their own products to meet the stringent criteria they helped establish! Although every product is not 100% natural (most are, however), Couleur Caramel is not out to pull the wool over your eyes; in their ingredients lists, they highlight everything that is of synthetic origin (as well as everything that is certified organic) so that you can decide for yourself – without needing an ingredients dictionary - whether their standards meet your own. The products are free from parabens, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol and PEGs. The packaging is recyclable, and they have even created refillable cases for their eye shadows, powders, blushers and foundations!

Couleur Caramel is now one of the leading make up lines sold in high-end salons and spas throughout France and around the globe. This year, they have partnered with The Nature of Beauty to provide you access to this amazing color line.

Why We Like It
