Follow the steps below to achieve Fredrika's polished look. Links to all products are provided, and they can also be found at the bottom of this page.

The Model: Fredrika, Actress, Singer, and Mom.

The Look: Polished but not fussy. With this look, Blades used golds to brighten the eyes and lips, and natural hues to create a glow that works as well on camera as it does for a night on the town.

1. First, prep the skin. For combination skin, try Logona's Hamamelis Day Cream or Sustainable Youth Technologies Elasticity Cream.

2. To conceal blemishes and under eye darkness, apply Jane Iredale Circle/Delete, using the darker shade to conceal and the lighter shade to brighten. To the oilier and more blemished areas on the cheeks, Blades applied Iredale's Absence Primer, which not only mattifies the skin and provides coverage, but controls shine throughout the day. Tip: apply the concealer on the inner half of the under eye area and the side bridge of the nose. Avoid blending to far out toward the ear, which can make the eyes look racoon-ish.

3. For Fredrika, Zuzu Liquid Foundation provided excellent coverage and a semi-matte finish. For best results, apply with a foundation brush or clean fingers.

4. If you have oily lids, consider applying a thin layer of Iredale Absence Primer prior to your eyeshadow. Or, you can use Iredale lid gloss in Gold Silk. With both, you want to use a synthetic concealer brush, as shown at left.

5. Apply a blend of Couleur Caramel eye shadows in Coppered Gold and Coppered Chocolate. Depending on your eye shape, you want more Coppered gold to go on the area of your eye you want to bring forward, and more Coppered Chocolate on the part of your eyes you want shadowed. For example, here we focused the lighter shade on her lid, and blended the darker shade in the crease and slightly up toward the brow bone, to bring out and brighten the eyes.

6. To create the definition around the eyes for this look, use a well-sharpened eye liner, such as Logona Kajal Eye Liner in black. Soften slightly on the back of your hand, and then make short strokes in between the lashes on the upper lash line. On the lower lash line, draw along the water line, as shown at left.

7. Follow with Couleur Caramel Mascara in Black.

8. Brighten the cheeks with Iredale's blush in Flushed, followed by rms living luminizer, applied by tapping it along the top edge of the cheekbone, as shown at left, making sure it blends into the skin.

9. The Absence primer eliminated the need for powder with Fredrika. To control shine throughout the day without over-drying the skin or removing makeup, blot with Tatcha blotting papers.

10. For the glossy, beautiful lips in this look, use Zuzu lip liner in Cappucino all over the lip, followed by Jane Iredale's PureGloss in Mulberry. Tip: To best prepare the lips for an all-over lip pencil, be sure to exfoliate. Try Jane Iredale's Sugar/Butter - one of our favorite products.

After
